April 24, 2025: Jon Serrano releases statement in regards to the passing of 10th Congressional District Representative Donald Payne Jr.

"My heart is heavy with the news of the passing of Congressman Donald Payne Jr., a leader of the 10th Congressional District whom many may have looked up to. His departure leaves a profound void in the halls of Congress, and his most recent call for a ceasefire before his passing in the Middle East showed the progress he sought out.

While I no longer affiliate with the Democratic Party, being human always comes first. As I was just beginning my campaign, I intended to meet with Payne Jr. and discuss the trials and tribulations he had to go through when first entering office himself, and how exactly I could make the same impact that he intended.

While we mourn the loss of Congressman Donald Payne Jr., let us also celebrate his family history and the work he had done for the people of the United States and the 10th Congressional District. May his memory continue to inspire us to work towards a more just, equitable, and compassionate society, and may his family, friends, and constituents find solace in the lasting impact he has left on our hearts and in our communities."

Jon is running and has the chance to be one of the youngest in history to be elected into Congress and our first Green!

We need and deserve young, gay, Hispanic representatives like Jon who will stand up against the 1%! From, the climate crisis, to supporting the public education system, a woman’s right to choose, the rights of the LGBTQ+ community amongst many other positions.

Jon wants to use his voice to unite a divided people. He wants to remind everyone that we need to work and build together here in New Jersey! We welcome and support Jon in his bid for the 10th congressional district which just lost Donald Payne Jr. this week.
